How can Team Share help you?
Team Share is designed to work with small to medium sized farmers
with the aim to assist growers to improve their profits.
The company will work with individual farmers to bring together
groups of growers who share a common desire to be more profitable
but remain an independent farmer. |

|
Team Share can help you...
Do you feel that there are limited options available to you
as a farmer?
Would you like to adopt a more cost-effective farming system,
but cannot justify the investment in machinery?
Is your current machinery costly to maintain and in need of
replacement?
Do you want to continue to farm your own land and not become
a landlord to a larger owner?
|
Team Share...A lifeline for farmers
Now you have an option.
Team Share can introduce to small and medium sized farmers
a more cost-effective crop production method based around proven
reduced cultivation systems. These systems are tried, tested
and supported by very accurate trials which prove that crop
establishment costs can be reduced without having to sacrifice
yields.
|

|
The best example of these systems and the most advanced is Eco-Tillage.
Eco-Tillage is a system of cultivation and crop establishment
that has been developed as part of a joint venture between Simba
International and leading crop specialists Monsanto. Growers
who have investigated the Reduced-Tillage systems, if not already
using them, will know that they improve the profitability of
the majority of cereal farmers. Savings are made by allowing
the grower to vastly reduce the crop establishment costs. This
is achieved via a combination of selective seed bed cultivation
techniques, carried out within a strict time frame, with the
aid of purpose built implements which remove the necessity for
excessive cultivation passes.
|

|
How do you become more profitable?
The cost to the majority of farmers from the point of crop
husbandry, once a crop has germinated, is a fairly constant
factor. Any reduction or increase in the use of fertiliser
or chemicals may result in a loss or gain in yield. It is
unlikely that any real savings could be made in this part
of the crop production system.
|
The cost of harvesting a crop and
placing it in store in a condition that allows it to be marketed
at a premium price is also an exercise that is governed by fixed
costs. The only area in which cereal growers can make serious
savings is by adopting a system that incorporates massive savings
in establishing the crop. The level of these savings can depend
on the system currently adopted by the farmer.
|
Team Share looks at the actions
taken by the grower from the time when the combine leaves the
field to when the crop germinates.
Team Share's staff has worked with farmers using Reduced-Tillage
systems over many years. These farmers can confirm that not
only does it increase profits but in some cases can also improve
yields. Some growers experienced a reduction in yield, however
this has been compensated by the vast reduction in growing costs.
|
Savings experienced by growers ranged from 35-70% of their
total production costs.
It is currently estimated that less than 10% of UK cereal growers
are using a Reduced-Tillage system.
Research shows that 45% of cereal growers would use the system
but are aware that the investment in machinery to adopt the
system would appear to make it an impractical option.
This is where Team Share can offer the opportunity to
growers to adopt a Reduced-Tillage system within a budget they
can afford. Team Share can bring the cost of a Reduced-Tillage
system within range of small and medium sized farmers, and in
many cases should be able to decrease a farmer's machinery cost
per acre to below that which they are currently experiencing.
So how does it work?
Team Share promotes the principle that a medium sized
farmer could farm in a more economic fashion but is limited
by machinery investment budget.
If that farmer became part of a small group - between two to
four farmers who in total would grow approximately 1500-2000
acres of cereals - it is possible that he could have use of
all the machinery required to adopt a Reduced-Tillage system
but at a cost that is well within his economic reach. He can
enjoy machinery costings experienced by much larger growers.
Team Share will bring together small groups of farmers presenting
them with a package of machinery, that is owned and used by
them, at a predetermined cost. This enables all the growers
within the group to become more profitable farmers. This could
avoid the need for the farmer to consider the other options
confronting many smaller growers. Do they rent their land out
to a much larger operation or should they consider selling their
farm?
|

|
Now You Have A Choice!
Team Share presents farmers with an economic lifeline
that brings to them the best possible package by means of providing
them with the most up to date machinery supported by manufacturers
and local dealers.
All members of the group would be aware of their machinery costs
for the next three to five years as all major machinery offered
is supported with extended warranty and full service package.
|
The growers are offered a number
of alternatives regarding payment structures. As a result of
this each grower knows exactly what his contribution to the
use of this machinery will be based upon a cost per acre per
year.
Team Share, in forming small working co-operatives, ensures
that partnerships are formed and managed in a way that is beneficial
to all parties and that allows the group members to maintain
their ability to trade as an individual and achieve increased
profitability.
A major part of the Team Share management package will
provide farmers with the opportunity to seek expert accounting
and legal advice at no extra cost via associated companies.
The people behind Team Share have many years' experience
within the industry and are aware of all the pitfalls that face
co-operatives and the reasons why many have failed in the past.
They understand the concerns held by farmers regarding entering
into such agreements therefore the presence of a neutral manager
provided by Team Share would avoid such repetition and
failure. Through this management, Team Share will ensure
that the partnerships work, removing the need for individual
members of the group to enter into a dispute with their partners.
Team Share has investigated a number of operations where
growers have combined their whole farming businesses to form
"super farming companies". Whilst many of these companies
provide the interested parties with the improved machinery costings
due to equipment being used over a large acreage they lose many
of the benefits that they had as an individual grower. The Team
Share concept allows its partners to enjoy the best of both
worlds.
|

|
What is so unique about the system?
The major concerns expressed by many growers about joining such
a team are based around the fear of a wet year. Team Share has
no affiliation with any single manufacturer, therefore careful
assessment is made of the requirements of each group.
|
The equipment that is then proposed
will take into consideration the amount of working days available
to cover the acreage farmed by the group members. The equipment
provided will allow a percentage of excess capacity to cope
with adverse weather conditions.
|
Team Share's research has
shown that by careful use of weather records and from data provided
by growers using a Reduced-Tillage system we can determine the
amount of working hours required to produce a seed bed and establish
a crop.
Team Share presents each group with a work schedule,
that is agreed by all parties, which clearly shows each member
where the machinery will be used at any time in a summer/autumn
work period. This simple method reduces the need for anxiety
or confrontation amongst the group members.
|

|
Team Share will organise operator
training to ensure that all the machinery is put to optimum
use and all preventative maintenance is carried out thus reducing
downtime. The Team Share manager will inspect the machinery
to ensure that it is regularly serviced and stored in the correct
manner out of season.
|
How do I become part of a team?
Team Share will make a no obligation presentation to
any individual farmer to assess whether being part of a team
can bring to him any economic advantages.
Alternatively, Team Share will make a presentation to
any interested groups who have already determined that there
are definite benefits to be obtained by becoming part of Team
Share.
Team Share has a database of farmers who wish to become
part of a team therefore if you are an individual who is interested
in becoming part of a team, but not aware of any like-minded
neighbours, we may already have a potential partner very near
you.
|
You do not have to be a member of a group to benefit from
Team Share management
Team Share will be happy to assess any individual farmer's
current crop establishment systems and machinery portfolio.
If savings can be made by that grower as an individual, either
by adopting alternative cultivation techniques or a different
machinery management programme, Team Share will provide
proposals for the individual to consider.
Team Share will then work with the grower to acquire
the correct machinery, whether it be new or used, in order to
achieve the proposed savings and if required will assist on
an ongoing basis to monitor crop production and machinery running
costs.
